Tiếp bước các thế hệ cha anh và truyền thống cách mạng của quê hương, thanh niên Điện Phương luôn xác định, lên đường nhập ngũ xây dựng, bảo vệ Tổ quốc là nhiệm vụ thiêng liêng, cao cả. Với tinh thần xung kích của tuổi trẻ, hằng năm nhiều thanh niên đã viết đơn tình nguyện lên đường nhập ngũ, trở thành người lính Bộ đội Cụ Hồ.
Tạm gác lại những dự định riêng, thanh niên Dương Phú Huy (sinh năm 2006) tại khối phố Triêm Tây, phường Điện Phương đã viết đơn tình nguyện nhập ngũ. Nhận thức được nghĩa vụ, trách nhiệm của mình đối với Tổ quốc. Sáng ngày 20/11/2024, Dương Phú Huy đã trực tiếp đến Ban Chỉ huy Quân sự phường để viết đơn tình nguyện với mong muốn sớm được thực hiện nghĩa vụ quân sự trong đợt tuyển quân sắp tới.
Nhiều năm qua, phong trào “Thanh niên viết đơn tình nguyện nhập ngũ” đã trở thành nét đẹp truyền thống của tuổi trẻ Điện Phương. Mỗi thanh niên có một hoàn cảnh khác nhau nhưng lại có chung một lý tưởng, trách nhiệm với Tổ quốc; những thanh niên ấy đã gác lại những lợi ích riêng của bản thân, tiếp nối truyền thống cha anh đi trước, góp sức mình vào sự nghiệp xây dựng và bảo vệ Tổ quốc Việt Nam xã hội chủ nghĩa và xứng đáng là những tấm gương sáng để thanh niên học tập và noi theo./.
